Louise Campbell

Director, Consulting (NSW)

I feel privileged to be able to work across the social sector each day, supporting organisations to create impact and drive change for people and communities across Australia.

Louise is a Director with Consulting, based in NSW.

She joined SVA in 2017 following a career of 25 years spanning the commercial, public, and not-for-profit sectors. At SVA, Lou works collaboratively with senior leadership and boards across the social sector to help define their strategic path and to understand their impact. She is a skilled facilitator who helps organisations to navigate complexity and develop a shared understanding of future priorities, in areas such as justice, children and family services, health and wellbeing, disability and First Nations communities.

Examples of recent experience include: a two-year evaluation of the NSW early intervention program for NSW Department of Communities and Justice designed to improve child protection outcomes for vulnerable families; co-design of ACT legal assistance sector five-year strategy; Closing the Gap outcomes workshop series for the Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations and NSW government. She’s worked with four national mental health providers of crisis response services to develop a shared approach to impact reporting; developed funding strategy for Macquarie Group Foundation centered around youth unemployment; impact measurement approach for Orange Sky’s laundry program in remote First Nations communities.

Further examples include a strategic review of digital mental health services for veterans for Commonwealth Department of Veteran’s Affairs; and working with community organisations to develop strategy, design new programs, review organisation structures and operating models and make the case for funding. Lou has also led a multi-year initiative to address funeral poverty, particularly for First Nations communities. Over six years, she engaged with community organisations, corporate funders and government to design and implement an innovative financial offering that allows people to prepare financially for their funeral see our Quarterly article.

Prior to joining SVA, Louise worked in consulting, government, technology and banking in Australia, UK, and Africa. She also led an international team at a large NGO reporting to the Board on operational risk.

Louise holds Masters degrees from both UNSW and Deakin University in Economics & International Development.
