Submission to the Early Years Strategy
This submission to the Early Years Strategy is from the Restacking the Odds initiative. Its recommendations are drawn from the initiative’s research on addressing inequity in the early years.
This submission, made on behalf of the Restacking the Odds initiative, was made to the Early Years Strategy, a federal piece of work from the Department of Social Services.
- An exploration of the Restacking the Odds evidence base and indicators which will be key to designing and delivering improvements in fundamental early years services.
- Responds to questions surrounding specific policy areas and priorities should be included in the strategy, including where the federal government can take on a stronger, more effective stewardship role.
- Calls for an Early Years Guarantee – which would guarantee access to a combination of high quality, evidence informed early years services which have the most impact when ‘stacked’ – whereby multiple evidence-based strategies are combined – to boost healthy development and wellbeing, and address inequities.
