What Will It Take?
A research paper by SVA and AEN, with analysis by PwC, about some possible solutions that may help rebuild career paths for young people.
For young people to lead a fulfilling life, employment pathways should meet their individual needs. Yet despite substantial investment in education and training, young people are starting work lower down the career ladder and climbing it more slowly. As a result, their incomes are in decline. The worst off are those without university qualifications – more likely to be from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
The What Will It Take report was developed in light of these findings.
This collaborative report from PwC’s Skills for Australia, SVA, the Global Apprenticeship Network (Australia) and the Apprentice Employment Network (Victoria) identifies measures that are required to rebuild economic mobility for young people in Australia and to remedy Australia’s chronic skills shortages.
