Objective

SVA Consulting was engaged to develop a strategic plan for how the Gunaikurnai people and Victorian Government partners would implement joint management in the parks and reserves on Gunaikurnai Country.

Role we played

In conjunction with Gunaikurnai Traditional Owner Land Management Board (GKTOLMB) and their partners – Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC), Parks Victoria and Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning – SVA Consulting:

Developed an annual evaluation and reflection process that would enable GKTOLMB and partners to monitor outcomes and continuously improve implementation.

Facilitated a two-day workshop with all partners to define partners’ aspirations and outcomes for joint management and identify key strategic initiatives

Created a long-term theory of change for how joint management would realise these aspirations

Impact

SVA Consulting produced a new joint management plan for Gunaikurnai and their partners that: located joint management with a strong and compelling aspiration for the future; provided a clear basis for measuring outcomes and continuous improvement; as well as a set of clear and actionable strategic initiatives.
